Trip Introduction

The old royal palace of the former Kathmandu Kingdom, the Kathmandu Durbar Square is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The site of the Hanuman Dhoka complex, it is strewn with exceptional anticulture and cultural diversity. The durbar square is where the kings were once solemnized. The major attractions of the Durbar Square include the residence of the only living Goddess in the world- Kumari, the Mahadev Temple, and the Krishna Temple, Saraswati Temple, Big drums, Kal Bhairav Temple, Jagannath Temple, Taleju Temple and other intricately carved exteriors signifying the inscriptions of the 18th century. Made up of two sub-areas, the courtyards of the Durbar Square like the Sundari Chowk, Basantapur Durbar, Mul Chowk, Nasal Statue etc. make the entire vicinity of the area even more exciting.
