Trip Introduction

Boudhanath is one of the largest stupas in Asia and is a buzzing conglomerate of bustling life around it and the significance of Buddhist symbolism. Center of the Tibetan culture in Kathmandu, the stupa is located on the eastern outskirts of Kathmandu, on the ancient trade route to Tibet. Created in the 14th century, the Biuddhanth looks like a giant mandala from above. Stupa represents the mythical Mt. Meru, the pinnacle symbolizes the path to enlightened. Other symbolisms include the symbolism of earth, water, and the omnipresent Buddha eyes. Colorful homes, Tibetan Buddhist monasteries, street vendors and bustling life are present in the area around the famous Boudhanath Stupa.
