Trip Introduction

Literally, Bhaktapur means the Land of the Devotees, and the place lives up to its name. One of the three medieval cities in Kathmandu, it has to be the best preserved one. The landmark in Bhaktapur includes a conglomeration of shikhara and pagoda styled temples, whose architecture dates back to many years. The Bhaktapur Durbar Square us home to the 55 window palace of brick and wood, Dattaraya Square, the 5 stories Pagoda Styled temple of Nayatpola, the Bhairab Mandir, the rectangular expanse of pond Siddha Pokhara etc. which exude perfect architectural beauty and diversity. Festivals like Bisket Jatra, Kumar Khasti, Gathamand Charya, Gai Jatra, Gunla, Sithi Nakha etc. make Bhaktapur even more colorful in terms of cultural diversity.
