Trip Introduction

Made by the late American Peace Corps Volunteer Dorothy Mierow, the Annapurna Natural History Museum consists of the tectonic block theory of how the Annapurna and other Himalayan ranges were formed. There are a huge number of metamorphic and sedimentary rocks explained in the museum. Interesting fossils, saligrams, and minerals, mountain butterflies of the world, species of moths, interesting dragonflies, 70 plant species, 150 bird species, and 56 bird skins of interest are depicted in the premises of the natural history museum.

 

The visit to the Annapurna Natural History museum is a thrilling experience for those interested in the history of the Annapurna’s and the flora and fauna found. The misuse is situated near Bhimkali Patan, Bagar in Pokhara.
